Ilya's New Move

Ilya Sutskever, OpenAI’s ex head of superalignment and one of Altman’s right hand just started his own AI startup.

Do you all want to guess what it focuses on?

Well if you are too deep into the world of AI it is not a difficult question to answer but if you are not, you’ve come to the right place 😉 

Safety of its users. This for profit entity’s one and only goal is to create a safe and powerful AI system.

If you know this was also one of the main reasons why he left OpenAI.

He and Altman, reportedly quarelled over how high they keep the safety of its users.

Ilya always said that AI’s supposed intelligence will always surpass that of humans and when that comes there needs to be certain checks in place (trust me he did say this just a more subtle version).

He along with two Daniels (Gross and Levy) have founded SSI (Safe Superintelligence Inc.).

"Our singular focus means no distraction by management overhead or product cycles, and our business model means safety, security, and progress are all insulated from short-term commercial pressures". These are Ilya’s words and I trust him enough to know that he won’t back off his word and focus on the nature and not just profits (unlike some :) ).

Their main product is yet to come out and by the time it is out, trust me they’ll gain quite some traction.
