AI and Humans

If you’re not bullish on AI, you really need to rethink your decisions.

This is what a close friend of mine told me in early 2024.

Back then I used to think about what AI could do that an average human can’t and with this new version of ChatGPT, the list keeps getting smaller and smaller.

If you’re up to date with what’s happening in the AI industry then I’m sure that you know what we’re going to talk about today but if not, do give this a proper read.

ChatGPT 4.0

→ AI now has a voice. The updated version of ChatGPT has a new voice feature that includes real-time translation. Duolingo, an app known worldwide for its ability to help learners grasp the knowledge of a new language uses ChatGPT 4.0.

→ You can now upload files. Yes, you heard it right. This new feature allows users to analyze data, summarise a 200-page document and much more.

→ OpenAI’s creativity has gone to another level with this new update. The way they store data and come up with solutions is surreal. Even Morgan Stanley’s wealth management team uses ChatGPT to store their data.

→ Preparing for an interview? OpenAI has your back. ChatGPT now helps you prepare for your interviews. You can set certain guidelines based on which questions are asked and along with that great feedback is also provided.

Trust me the list goes on and on.

If you’ve been an avid reader of My Two Cents, I’m sure you know that I think that AI will take away 40% of jobs but recently I read this article by Grandmaster Garry Kasparov which got me thinking.

The article talked about how AI was created to augment humans and their work. Yet today there are sectors where AI can work better than humans and where it may end up taking most of the jobs. This whole narrative of AI replacing humans sounds absurd but similar concepts are not unheard of. This is what happened during the Industrial Revolution when new, capital-intensive technologies replaced manual labor.

The pattern has been going on for ages and I don’t expect it to end anywhere soon. People shouldn’t be scared of AI but should be more inclusive and see how they can leverage this work of art to quadruple their incomes.

AI and humans over AI or humans.
