Ai-Da Robot

In partnership with

Before you all get confused, Ai Da Robot is not a fancy English play on the phrase Ai The Robot, at least not from us!

Could that be the case by its creators? Well, the team at AI For You checked and actually, its not.

The robot Ai Da is actually named after Ada Lovelace, who is recognised as the world’s first computer programmer.

Interestingly, Ai Da has been around for longer than AI For You, it came into existence in 2019 as a robot artist. While Ai-Da’s curations have successfully been a part of multiple art exhibitions since her inception, what earns her a feature in our article today is her latest painting of Alan Turing.

Alan Turing, as most of you may know, is considered to be the father of AI and his painting was sold for a whopping ~9 crores at the Sotheby’s Digital Art Sale. Rightly named AI- God, the painting is truly one of the fittest recognitions by Ai-Da to the person who laid the foundations for its existence.

While this painting’s sale in itself was surely worth the feature today, it also brings us to a much larger question. Is art, a field so closely based on the uniqueness of human perception, being taken over by machines and robots? The answer is both yes and no. While the yes is pretty evident, the reason we said no to an entire takeover is because Ai-Da is designed by its makers in a way that it acknowledges the complexities associated with inter mingling boundaries between the digital and physical world. In fact, this is a recurring theme in the creations of Ai-Da. Its a capability that even humans are struggling with in today’s time, so its recognition by Ai-Da and its creators is what truly sets it apart and fascinated us.

P.S- There’s a waitlist to get hold of Ai-Da’s paintings so go sign yourself up on their official website if you’re truly an art connoisseur and want to be a part of something revolutionary (And no, this is not an ad, but truly just our fascination with the developments of AI)

And yes, make sure you get your friends to subscribe to AI For You, we never want to gate-keep such interesting features :)
